Common Desktop Installer |
The X9Ware Desktop Installer is used for all of our desktop products (X9.37, ACH, and CPA005). This single download enables specific functionality based on the license that is used for activation. This includes licensing for: X9Lite, X9Vision, X9Validator, X9Assist, AchValidator, and AchAssist. Once installed, the current product license will default to our X9Lite (freeware) product until a subsequent license is entered, which is done using toolbar function / Help / Registration. After license information has been applied, the attributes and capabilities of your licensed product will be automatically assigned. To make things easy, our X9Lite freeware installation can be used to activate a limited X9Assist product evaluation directly from the toolbar. This allows any user to quickly take an initial look at all of our X9Assist functionality subject to a file size limitation. Please contact us for a full X9Assist evaluation license.

Installation Packages |
EXE Installer for Windows — Most Common The BUILD-ZIP package will install on Windows with either ADMIN or USER privileges. The ADMIN installation will be for all users of the target workstation (into the “Windows Program Files” folder), while the USER installation is for the current user only (into the “User/AppData” folder). Both of these installation packages can optionally add a desktop icon and assign the file associations needed to automatically launch files when double clicked. This is our recommended installer and will be applicable to most Windows environments. ADMIN is optional; Pre-installed JVM is not required. | ![]() |
MSI installer for Windows The MSI-SETUP package installs on Windows and requires ADMIN privileges. This is a standard Windows installer that appears in Add/Remove Programs, updates the registry, adds an icon to your desktop, and assigns commonly used file associations. This installer can be used by msiexec.exe to facilitate managed distributions. It is most typically used in corporate environments where a MSI installer is needed for distribution, repackaging, and silent installs. ADMIN is typically required; Pre-installed JVM is not required; Default install location: Windows Program Files. | ![]() |
JAR-INSTALLER-ZIP package for Linux and macOS The JAR-INSTALLER-ZIP package is designed for Linux and macOS. Once you download and unzip, you will then find an X9Assist installer written in Java. Use the sh file to launch the installer on Linux, and the command file to launch on macOS. The installer will unpack the X9Assist jar and all related files to a folder of your choosing. You may need to customize both the installer script and the X9Assist launch script subject to your environment. This process is designed for non-Windows systems. It has been used successfully on macOS, Ubuntu Linux, and RedHat Linux. However, be advised that this can be technically challenging. We ask that you provide feedback as to how we can make this easier for the user community. To utilize this option, you must install your own JVM (Java 17 or higher); Supported JVMs: OpenJDK or Oracle JDK, Java 9+; Recommended JVMs: Zulu-17, OpenJDK, Java 11+. | ![]() |
