AchAssist has the ability to create new files from Excel spreadsheets. This is done using our Make function, where a user created spreadsheet defines the transactions that are to be manufactured by Make. Our ACH Excel templates are distributed in a single file: / x9assist / lists / useCases / achTemplates.xlsx. Each template is a worksheet within this single Excel file. To create ACH transactions, first locate the template for the Standard Entry Class to be created and use it as the basis to enter the data for your items. You can to this by:
- Opening our achTemplates.xlsx file
- Opening your new ACH transaction file
- Locate the template (tab) within our achTemplates file to be used as the basis
- Right click that template (tab) and copy it into your transaction file
- Close our achTemplates file
- Continue to construct your transactional data as needed
Your XLSX transaction files can have as many rows as needed based on the number of transactions to be entered. Creation of an offset is optional. If you are creating an offset, you can specify an alternate Standard Entry Class for that batch. An Excel formula would typically be used to calculate the offset amount. You should always double check that total to confirm it is as expected, and that your transactions are in balance to the anticipated total.
One row exists within the spreadsheet for each item to be created. Each row defines both the transaction data (transaction code, routing, account, amount, etc) as well as the optional addenda information that is to be attached to the item. The spreadsheet can contain both the detailed items as well as a summary offset to bring the net amount to zero. Refer to documentation on our Make function for more detailed information.
Excel columns vary depending on the Standard Entry Class (SEC) due to the varying data that is needed for the transaction as well as the attached addenda records. As a result, these templates have a varying number of columns based on both the Standard Entry Class as well as the number of addenda records that are defined. Standard Entry Classes have been grouped into a single template when they have the same data and addenda requirements. Our base templates within achTemplates.xlsx are as follows:
